Community First National Bank wants you to stay safe online. Below are some quick tips to help you protect your financial accounts from fraud.

  • When in doubt, hang up! Then, call the company back at their published phone number.
  • Don't give an unsolicited caller remote access to your computer.
  • Never share your user name and password with ANYONE. Use a different password for each of your online accounts—especially for your email, phone, and financial institution accounts.
  • We'll never call you to request one-time passwords, verification passcodes, or other information you receive via email or text (SMS).
  • Refunds are not issued through Zelle®. If somebody calls you and offers a refund via Zelle®, hang up the phone and call us.
  • Don't share your account number or personal information by email or text.
  • Don't give information over the phone. if you receive a call stating that a transaction is canceled, even if the caller claims to be from your bank. Call the bank using a published phone number to inquire about the transaction.
  • Don't click on links in unsolicited emails or texts.
  • Don't feel pressured to provide information immediately in response to requests via text, email or phone. Using their published phone number, reach out to your financial institution to confirm that the request is legitimate.
  • Don't trust caller ID; Caller ID could be spoofed to show your financial institution's name.
  • Don't wire money or share gift card numbers with phone callers, strangers on social media, or people posing as the police. This is a scam!
